The Publishers’ Club
The Publishers’ Club are a group of children from years 4, 5 and 6 who meet once a week to write and illustrate new stories.
All children in these year groups were given the chance to enter a writing/illustrating compe tition. Each entrant had to either complete a story that had been started or illustrate one scene from it.
Each week, members of the club are given a different task to undertake. In the first few sessions the children continued writing their story. They then took turns editing each others’ writing and shared ideas about how to improve their work further. The illustrators have provided a visual aspect for each story. They read the stories produced by the writers and then used a variety of art packages to illustrate these.
